A respected and transformative public servant, she is uniquely prepared for the defining role. Her career spans more than 30 years of groundbreaking leadership in South Florida government, where she built a reputation for innovation, resilience and results. She made history as the first woman ever appointed Miami-Dade County Manager, overseeing 27,000+ employees and an $8 billion budget while managing one of the nation’s largest and most complex local governments.
In 2020, she broke barriers once again as the first woman to serve as City Manager of Miami Beach. Under her leadership, the city strengthened its focus on sustainability, resilience, public safety and quality of life, earning recognition as a forward-thinking model for urban innovation.
Yet her impact extends far beyond government leadership.
