Glowing Canvas

Balcony with ocean view

Tucked away in a restored alleyway off Ocean Drive and Collins Avenue in Miami Beach, adjacent to The Betsy Hotel, is an egg-shaped landmark known as The Betsy Orb that functions as a sculptural installation, an interior gallery space and a functional bridge connecting two buildings. It has been reimagined with a permanent, state-of-the-art projection system, transforming it into a year-round public art platform showcasing commissioned digital works by global contemporary artists. A laser projector delivers tens of thousands of lumens with high-contrast color, calibrated to the curvature of the structure so every commissioned work wraps its surface without spilling onto neighboring buildings. Projections run 365 days a year, free and open to the public, extending a longtime devotion to art at the landmark hotel; TheBetsyHotel.com.
